My hybridized practice explores dream-like environments in the form of mixed media drawings and paintings. The interactions between material and image are the consistent motive behind my creative process.
The past few years have culminated into a body of work titled Terra Infirma. Focusing on the impermanence of our shifting landscape, it explores colliding weather patterns and movement of landforms. The line between ground and sky has been blurred. At times, a human presence emerges from the landscape, in the midst of unstable ground.
In these works, I use both drawing and painting media. The act of both drawing and painting on the surface acts as a gateway for media exploration. Drawing acts as a way to record information, while painting provides color. I then layer collage elements or found objects for added surface texture, giving a touch of physicality.
