I was raised on a small horse farm in Chester County, Pennsylvania. As a child I would carefully study any images of urban scenes, imagining myself exploring the fascinating, complex spaces they represented. This focus was fixed for me when, in my twenties, I first encountered the rugged, industrial castles in the neighborhood now known as Callowhill Industrial Historic District (or, sometimes, as The Eraserhood).
Exposure to the works of filmmaker David Lynch, himself influenced by this same neighborhood, only served to further strengthen my desire to learn and record everything about that district. Eventually my need was to depict the entire City of Philadelphia in a series of distorted, enhanced Urban Landscapes. This documentation is still a work in progress.
